From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot reported #1 fadec failed shortly after takeoff from a backlot of an industrial park, and #2 automatic backup fadec did not respond. Engine lost power and aircraft made an emergency power off landing from about 30-40 feet AGL into a nearby parking lot. Main rotor struck chain link fence, and aircraft sustained substantial damage on impact. Landing skids, both rotors, tail boom, bubble, and fuselage all severely damaged. Pilot was not hurt. Douglas county sheriff witnessed accident and responded on scene to help pilot evacuate aircraft. No one injured on ground, and damage noted to fence and heavy duty truck from rotor blade impact.
