From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot in command was taxiing the aircraft back to the runway after landing and decided to take his shirt off over his head because he was hot. During the time when he was taking his shirt over his head he relinquished taxi control to the other passenger (student pilot) and the airplane drifted to the side of the taxiway and hit a truck that was doing maintenance on the airport. The one inch gash in the left wing caused substantial damage to the wing attach point at the wing root. No injury to anyone involved and weather was not a factor.
