From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The engine RPM dropped to idle when the pilot reduced power during transition from downwind to base leg while landing at a private airport near mt. Vernon, MO. The pilot stated that throttle movement had no effect on engine power. The pilot continued to the runway and landed hard, collapsing the landing gear. The commercial pilot and his passenger were not injured. On-scene inspection revealed approximately 20 gallons of fuel on-board. Inspection of the in-line fuel filter revealed a small amount of fiberglass particles, but not enough to restrict fuel to the engine. Throttle linkage was checked for continuity with no abnormality found. The aircraft owner will send the engine and throttle body to the manufacturer for examination. This report will be amended if relevant information becomes available. privacy data omitted Is closed pending new information.
