From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft suffered engine power loss at 500 feet horizontally from shore at an altitude of 500 feet. Pilot landed aircraft on beach, sustaining damage to the nose landing gear, engine mounts, propeller, engine firewall, and bulkheads under pilot seats. Aircraft had 5 gallons of fuel remaining in right fuel tank, left tank was empty. Pilot stated that he switched from the left tank to the right tank after the power loss, attempting to recover engine power. Investigation revealed fuel input line to fuel pump was void of fuel, fuel output line from fuel pump was void of fuel, and gasolater was also void of fuel. Pilot departed from flagler county airport (X47) at 12:53 for a 10-15 minute test flight, returned and departed again with owner of aircraft for flight lasting 10-15 minutes, landing at flagler. Aircraft departed from flagler at 14:40 for craig municipal airport (crg), a 45 minute flight. Aircraft departed craig for herlong airport (heg), a 10 minute flight, where pilot stated he performed 3 touch and go's that lasted 15 minutes. Departed herlong and flew along beach for 10-15 minutes when aircraft suffered power loss. Beginning fuel for all flights was 20 gallons, aircraft was not refueled.
