From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Due to piston rack gear failure in the left main gear actuator, pilot was unable to extend the left main landing gear using normal or emergency gear extension procedures. Pilot accomplished a gear up landing as directed in the pilot's operating handbook. The aircraft suffered minor damage to the lower body skin and some marring to the lower firewall. The propeller was damaged when it contacted the runway. Further analysis of the landing gear actuator rack gear failure mode is pending the examination of the component. Analysis of engine and aircraft structural damage is pending tear down and body panel removal.
