From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) A television station was filming a promoational segment involving the helicopter that was involved in the accident and a satellite communications vehicle (scv). The scv was parked on the south end of a taxiway that is west and parallel to a single runway. While flying in close proximity to the scv, the helicopter's main rotor struck a large disk antenna located on top of the truck. After striking the antenna, the pilot was able to set the helicopter down in a grassy area just east of the parallel runway. The helicopter came to rest on its right side. There was one passenger in the back seat of the helicopter. This individual was not injured but was transported to a local hospital for precautionary measures. The pilot received minor injuries and was treated and released from the same hospital. No one on the ground or in the scv was hurt.
