From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Prior to landing at gai, the main landing gear indication light was not showing the main landing gear to be down and locked. The pilot executed a go-around and performed an emergency gear extension. After an individual on the ground visually verified that all three gear were down, the pilot proceeded to land. Upon touch down, the main landing gear collapsed. As a result, the fuselage sustained minor damage and the wooden propeller was destroyed. Post incident investigation revealed the probable culprit to be an intermittent landing gear solenoid. Pilot was explained the relationship of experimental aircraft, federal aviation regulations and required maintenance. A suggestion was also made that he have the landing gear solenoid and the battery solenoid replaced. The aircraft was built from a kit in 1995 and was recently converted to passenger carrying from a drone aircraft.
