From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot stated that approximately 20 minutes into the flight he heard a single "pop" sound, the airspeed dropped 20 knots, the main gear was partially extended and the gear up light was no longer illuminated. The main and emergency gear extension was inoperative. The aircraft landed gear up with damage to the prop, exhaust tail pipe, lower cowl and belly. Investigation revealed the nose gear up hydraulic line had failed causing a loss of hydraulic fluid and pressure. Time in service and age of the line could not be determined. Cessna was notified. Failure investigation is on-going. M or d submitted.
