From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Enroute from winona, MN (ona) to grinnell, IA (ggi), pilot experienced engine problems with a loss of power, and an emergency landing was executed on a field near Cresco, IA (cjj). A local certificated mechanic was called to the scene. On arrival, the carburetor bowl was drained, and the quick draines were sumped. The only anomaly noted was the gascolator appeared to be half full. It was removed, screens were cleaned and reinstalled with no air. Three different engine runs were performed with no discrepancies noted. The aircraft then departed the field and landed at Cresco municipal airport without further incident.
