From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23)The right landing gear collapsed on landing and the aircraft drifted off the right side of the runway and into a chain-link fence. There were no injuries to the pilot or passenger, but the aircraft sustained substantial damage from contact with the runway and the fence. The owner had no insurance on the aircraft and the NTSB has indicated that they will not be funding the investigation. The aircraft was moved to a tie-down spot on the field and the owner was requested to advise the FAA when the aircraft was about to be salvaged. At the time of this report, the owner had not contacted the FAA and the aircraft had not been moved. It is hoped that when the owner has the aircraft placed on jacks, it will be possible to determine why the gear collapsed.
