From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) privacy data omitted the canadian pilot of the canadian registered amateur built helicopter reported that on the attempted takeoff from the ramp area he was attempting to achieve translational lift when the helicopter's skids began dragging tall grass adjacent to the ramp. The added drag coupled with the hot temperatures and a passenger onboard resulted in loss of rotor RPM and the helicopter struck the ground and rolled over onto its side. The main rotor was destroyed and minor damage was incurred to the body, wind screen and pilot's door of the helicopter. No injuries were sustained by the pilot and his passenger.

THE MAIN ROTOR WAS DESTROYED AND MINOR DAMAGE WAS INCURRED TO THE BODY, WIND SCREEN AND PILOT'S DOOR OF THE HELICOPTER. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED BY THE PILOT AND HIS PASSENGER.
