From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The aircraft was on a straight in approach to runway 09R at osu airport, approximately five miles from touchdown. As the pilot leveled at 3000 feet and applied cruise power, the aircraft's propeller departed the airplane. Prior to the failure the pilot experienced a vibration followed by two fadec lights illuminating. He then heard a loud bang and saw the propeller come off the engine. At that point the pilot executed an emergency landing in a corn field. Damage to the aircraft consisted of the main landing gear and nose landing gear being bent rearward, still attached to the airframe. Cosmetic damage was found on wing leading edges and fuselage. There were no injuries or fatalities.
