From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) N198PA was on approach to landing at kntd, crew observed that the l/h landing gear down light had not illuminated. Pilots initiated a go around and attempted to get three greens by activating the emergency blow down bottle, and finally pulled the aircraft up steeply in an attempt to free the l/h gear. After all attempts failed the aircraft landed on runway 21 with the l/h main gear still in the well. The aircraft was evacuated with no injuries reported. Recovery of the aircraft from the infield revealed that the l/h gear was still secured in the wheel well by the uplock actuator. The landing gear was lowered by manually releasing uplock. At that Point the l/h gear fell to the down and locked position. Examination of the uplock actuator revealed nothing abnormal as viewed from the wheel well area.
