From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) After a hard landing the aircraft began to bounce. The pilot claims the engine would only produce partial power while conducting a go around. The aircraft's tail struck the runway 3 times, veered to the right and struck the taxiway west of the runway. The passenger/pilot also assisted by manipulating the controls trying to recover prior to striking the ground. The pilot said at the scene he was pilot in command. On August 27 the pilot stated they never really designated who was going to be pilot in command.
