What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) PIC reported a rough running engine. The airplane engine had a power loss of 400-500 RPM. Engine cowling was observed shuddering. Reduced power setting and proceeded with the flight. A few minutes later the engine started to lose power again. PIC elected to land, declared an emergency and landed at 1,200-1300 MSL. Damage: left wing tip and left nav. Light, nose and main tires blown, and bent propeller. Investigation: we have not been able to see the actual airplane damage or examine the engine. Awaiting the airplane to be lifted to a safe location for initial examination. Finding: #2 cylinder lower spark plug defective with a cracked carbine resistor and fixed glass seal. The top spark plug was producing, providing lower spark and contributed to the cylinder failing to produce power.
