From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The aircraft was involved in a landing accident at the owner's/pilot's Private strip. The pilot stated that there weas a tailwind condition which made the aircraft difficult to control after touchdown. The aircraft veered to the left on rollout and hit a tree with the left wing which caused the propeller to strike a tree and the tail wheel to be pulled hard to the left. The wing spar on the left wing was bent, significantly, as the tree impact went deep into the leading edge. The tail wheel bracket distortion which resulted went on to distort the entire empennage area and the vertical fin to be bent out of the vertical by 7 inches.
