From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot stated that he had performed a normal pre-flight check and drained fuel for a sample and added two (2) quarts of oil for a total of eleven (11) quarts. Pre-takeoff run-up and magneto check was normal and take-off occurred at 18:00 hours. After climbing to an altitude of 500 feet AGL in route to a field to be sprayed, the oil temperature slowly began to increase toward the red line of 250 degrees and the engine lost power. The oil temperature started to rise at approximately 15 minutes into the flight leaving his only option to make an emergency landing in the bean field. The aircraft slowly flipped over just before coming to a stop.
