What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) Student pilot stated he landed normally on both mains when it felt like the aircraft was being pushed to the left before the nose wheel even touched the pavement. He attempted to counteract the left drift with right rudder. Upon leaving the runway surface to the left, the right main gear struck a runway sign and was damaged. The right main strut subsequently failed causing the plane to settle on the right horizontal stabilizer and right wing tip, as it slid to a stop.
