From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 9/20/2007, at approximately 1358 CDT, the pilot privacy data omitted experienced an engine failure in N118TT, a BE-35-B35 bonanza, manufactured in 1950. The pilot departed hicks field (T67), in fort worth, Texas on 9/2/2007 at approximately 1205 CDT for a VFR flight to the hutchinson county airport (kbgd) in Borger, Texas, with his 16 year old son, privacy data omitted as a passenger. The pilot stated he began his descent and requested an airport advisory from the kbgd UNICOM. They were using runway 17. He stated the engine suddenly stopped when he switched from the right fuel tank to the left fuel tank, per his normal procedure. He determined he was unable to land on runway 17 and decided to land on runway 35. He began using the wobble pump which allowed the engine to operate momentarily but did not provide sufficient power to make the runway. The aircraft crashed in a subdivision approximately one half mile short of runway 35, and came to rest in front of a house located at privacy data omitted owned by privacy data omitted. The aircraft was destroyed, the pilot and passenger were severely injured. No one on the ground was injured.

As the FAA filed it

(-23) ON 9/20/2007, AT APPROXIMATELY 1358 CDT, THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ EXPERIENCED AN ENGINE FAILURE IN N118TT, A BE-35-B35 BONANZA, MANUFACTURED IN 1950. THE PILOT DEPARTED HICKS FIELD (T67), IN FORT WORTH, TEXAS ON 9/2/2007 AT APPROXIMATELY 1205 CDT FOR A VFR FLIGHT TO THE HUTCHINSON COUNTY AIRPORT (KBGD) IN BORGER, TEXAS, WITH HIS 16 YEAR OLD SON, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ AS A PASSENGER. THE PILOT STATED HE BEGAN HIS DESCENT AND REQUESTED AN AIRPORT ADVISORY FROM THE KBGD UNICOM. THEY WERE USING RUNWAY 17. THE AIRCRAFT CRASHED IN A SUBDIVISION APPROXIMATELY ONE HALF MILE SHORT OF RUNWAY 35, AND CAME TO REST IN FRONT OF A HOUSE LOCATED AT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ OWNED BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^. THE AIRCRAFT WAS DESTROYED, THE PILOT AND PASSENGER WERE SEVERELY INJURED. NO ONE ON THE GROUND WAS INJURED.
