From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On August 8, 2007 at approximately 1340 CDT, N8225P, an air tractor 602, piloted by privacy data omitted impacted a terrain south of Gasoline, Texas, which is located 8 miles northwest of flomot, Texas. Pilot was intending to apply commercial chemicals to a field approximately 1 mile southeast of this impact site. Pilot realized the aircraft engine was rapidly losing power. He decided to check power settings, engaged aircraft fuel boost pump and jettison the commercial chemicals. Pilot made an off airport landing impacting a dirt bank separating approximately two feet of the right wing tip. Aircraft then struck a static electrical power line with the vertical tail, crossing a county road. The aircraft spun 180 degrees severing off all three landing gears during a second impact with another dirt bank. Aircraft came to rest approximately 300 feet from initial impact site. The aircraft sustained extensive damage to the lower belly surface, wings, all flight controls, engine mounts and engine propeller. The pilot sustained minor injuries, was able to extricate himself from the wreckage with only minor bruises. Aircraft had approximately 3/4 fuel capacity on board at impact site.
