From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot privacy data omitted was taking off from runway 20, (3600' paved) at moultonborough, NH (5M3). Lift-off and initial climb were normal. At approximately 3/4 of the runway length, the engine started to sputter and lose power. The pilot elected to continue straight ahead (due to low airspeed and altitude), and landed in a swamp off the end of the runway. Aircraft came to an abrupt stop with the nose and prop in the mud on a northwesterly heading. The pilot (only occupant), exited the aircraft and walked to safety with no injuries. Property damage was negligible. The aircraft sustained substantial damage: nose gear broke off, r wing aft attach failed, l wing buckled outboard of strut, fuselage structure extensively damaged top of cockpit and left aft lower longeron bent, 3 blade prop bent but negligible evidence of rotation/power at impact, prop & crankshaft would turn (not seized).

As the FAA filed it

(-23) THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS TAKING OFF FROM RUNWAY 20, (3600' PAVED) AT MOULTONBOROUGH, NH (5M3).
