From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

(-23) On 10/02/07 this office was notified by the new england area region operations center that on 9/26/07 go jet airlines was involved in an aviation incident in Burlington, VT. Operations report is as follows:"go jet 5386, CRJ7, landed runway 15 at Burlington, VT and experienced a hot brake issue. Aircraft turned off the runway and passengers and crew evacuated via the stairs at 2310 EDT, 9/26/07. Aircraft was towed to the gate. Incident reported to ane-roc on 10-2-07." This inspector spoke with contract maintenance personnel (heritage flight) in Burlington and was informed that logbook write-up is as follows: "#4 brake overheat indication warning in flight." Crew reported "brake ovht" indication during descent along with an oral warning of "brakes" on the computer while descending to 11000 ft. the PIC reported that the #4 brake indicator also illuminated. Crew reported theat brake indication warning went out after crew had run emergency qrh, but soon reappeared approximately thirty seconds later. Aircrew subsequently declared an emergency, advised ATC of intent to perform emergency evacuation, and landed aircraft, no injuries noted. Per the go jet irregularity/incident report, passengers and aircrew were both evacuated through the forward left air stair door and the left wing emergency exit on taxiway b of runway fifteen. This inspector spoke with Vermont air national guard crash, fire rescue personnel on 10-03-07 and was informed that CFR inspected aircraft and did not find any indication of fire, smoke or heat. Once it was established that there was not a danger of fire, smoke or an overheat condition the aircraft was repositioned to the go jets gate. Contract aircraft maintenance was called out to the aircraft where maintenance complied with a visual inspection of the main landing gear and doors and then deferred the brake temperature indication system per MEL 32-46-01 after completing Bombardier repair engineering order 670-32-46-0001. This order allows for the stowage and cap installation of the thermocouple connector in order to eliminate the intermittent bmts indication and nuisance "brake ovht" message in the cockpit. The go jets certificate management office has been notified of this incident and will address any other concerns. This narrative considered closed.
