What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) On October 19, 2007, the pilot privacy data omitted flew his privately owned Robinson R-44 ii helicopter for personal transportation to an associates farm. Upon initiating his landing in what the pilot privacy data omitted referred to as somewhat windy conditions, he lost control of the aircraft resulting in this accident. The pilot privacy data omitted stated after touching the aircraft skids on the ground, it began to oscillate fore and aft. The pilot privacy data omitted stated that the ocillations increased in intensity until the main rotor contacted the ground resulting in the rollover of the aircraft. A witness to this accident, privacy data omitted, concurred with these observations. I observed the aircraft to be resting on its left side with its nose facing 105 degrees. The area in which the landing was attempted was approximately a five degree incline on an unimproved grassy area. Both main rotors had separated from the rotor head and the rotor mast fairings indicated approximately a five degree incline on an unimproved grassy area. Both main rotors had separated from the rotor head and the rotor mast fairings indicated torsion stress. The tail boom and tail rotor "stinger" had been bent at the fuselage attach point. There were three witness marks on the ground at the area of the tail boom indicating the location that the main rotors made contact. The left front skid tip forward of the strut attachment point had separated.
As the FAA filed it
(-23) ON OCTOBER 19, 2007, THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ FLEW HIS PRIVATELY OWNED ROBINSON R-44 II HELICOPTER FOR PERSONAL TRANSPORTATION TO AN ASSOCIATES FARM. UPON INITIATING HIS LANDING IN WHAT THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ REFERRED TO AS SOMEWHAT WINDY CONDITIONS, HE LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT RESULTING IN THIS ACCIDENT. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STATED AFTER TOUCHING THE AIRCRAFT SKIDS ON THE GROUND, IT BEGAN TO OSCILLATE FORE AND AFT. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STATED THAT THE OCILLATIONS INCREASED IN INTENSITY UNTIL THE MAIN ROTOR CONTACTED THE GROUND RESULTING IN THE ROLLOVER OF THE AIRCRAFT. A WITNESS TO THIS ACCIDENT, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, CONCURRED WITH THESE OBSERVATIONS.
