From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) While at cruise altitude near whiteman air force base, the pilot noticed electrical problems preceded by flickering radio equipment. The pilot stated that he was able to cancel his IFR flight plan before experiencing complete electrical failure. He elected to continue to Sedalia, Missouri (kdmo), his destination airport. Upon arrival, he manually extended the landing gear, but was unable to verify a "down and locked" condition without electrical power. The pilot stated that he made a normal landing on the main gear, but when the nose came down, the nose landing gear collapsed. The post-incident inspection did not reveal any obvious defects with the electrical system. The aircraft owner will have maintenance personnel examine the system components for abnormalities. This report will be amended if relevant information becomes available. privacy data omitted Is closed pending new information.
