From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 11-05-07 during a demonstration flight, aircraft N605J, a Jabiru J250-SP light sport aircraft, landed short of runway 20 at Robertson airport (4B8). The pilot in command demonstrating the aircraft to a prospective buyer stated that on short final he lost about 60 ft. of altitude very quickly and flared the aircraft about 8 ft. short of the runway. The main landing gear wheels contacted the lip of runway shearing both wheel fairings. The nose wheel settled down about 80 ft. past the end of the runway also shearing the nose wheel fairing causing loss of steering control. The aircraft veered off to the right hand side of the runway coming to a stop in soft sand. This action resulted in the shearing of one propeller blade, shearing of the propeller spinner, scratches to both main landing gear struts and a 2 degree bending of the nose gear strut.
