From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) At approximately 1730 hours on 11-13-07, a Lancair iv, bearing registration N4SX, piloted by the pilot privacy data omitted, landed with the gear retracted on runway 28 at gria. The pilot was the only person onboard the aircraft on the 14 CFR part 91 pleasure flight from pou to roc. There were no injuries. Damage to the aircraft was limited to the propeller, gear doors, fairings and the lower fuselage skin. The airport CFR equipment responded and used airbags to raise the aircraft off the runway at which time the landing gear was extended and the aircraft was towed to landmark aviation. According to the pilot, he had failed to extend the landing gear, noting that he missed the cue from the "landing gear not extended" warning lamp on the panel because he "had the cockpit lights dimmed." The pilot was very cooperative and forthright. He stated he had flown approximately 5 hours in the last 90 days, has approximately 1800 hours total time with approximately 300 in type. His flight review date is 3-2007. privacy data omitted
