From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot had just purchased this aircraft the day of the accident. He had taken a 2 hour high performance check ride with privacy data omitted a local CFI. After the successful completion of the check ride the pilot, his wife, and father departed the airport to return to little rock ar. Shortly after takeoff the pilot radioed he was returning to the airport due to electrical trouble. On approach to 19 left at rvs the aircraft clipped the top of a tree and then contacted power lines starting a fire. The aircraft then traveled about 75 yards and contacted a 4 foot mound of dirt and flipped over. There was a strong smell of fuel but no fire of the wreckage. An interview with the mechanic that conducted a pre purchase inspection of the aircraft noted that the copilot shoulder harness was detached from the top rendering it inop. The pilot survived, his wife in the copilot seat died and his father in the back seat died.
