From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 12/09/2007 on a VFR flight from fort lauderdale to ocala, the pilot privacy data omitted requested an alternate airport because he believed that there was a problem with the manifold pressure and engine oil pressure being low. He diverted to Clewiston and while enroute the aircraft was experiencing a partial electrical failure which would not show that the landing gear was down and locked. The pilot heard the landing gear being lowered but pulled the knob for manual extension as a precaution. A normal landing was made at Clewiston and the pilot communicated with other aircraft in the area with a hand held radio that he had landed safely and for them to notify the air traffic control tower. The aircraft was experiencing a low voltage problem causing erroneous indications and was not an engine problem. The pilot made arrangements with a maintenance facility to inspect the aircraft and fully charge the aircraft battery and the problem could not be duplicated.

As the FAA filed it

(-23) ON 12/09/2007 ON A VFR FLIGHT FROM FORT LAUDERDALE TO OCALA, THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ REQUESTED AN ALTERNATE AIRPORT BECAUSE HE BELIEVED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE MANIFOLD PRESSURE AND ENGINE OIL PRESSURE BEING LOW.
