From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft N615PA, a B727 was parked on the cargo ramp outside building #340. During strong gusting winds a cargo container was blown into the fuselage about 16" aft of the forward cargo door causing a puncture approximately 1" x 1". The flight crew was on board awaiting passengers who were estimated to be 20 minutes from arriving at the aircraft. The flight crew did not feel the impact and the incident and damage was brought to their attention by the ground crew. An interim repair was performed per the structural repair manual (srm) reference 53-30-03, figure 25. The interim repair calls for inspection every 3000 cycles and is to be permanently repaired 10,000 cycles.
