From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During training instruction and final descent into Falcon field, (ffz), the instructor pilot cut number one engine power to simulate an engine failure. Number one engine shut down and the propeller went into a feather condition. When pilot attempted to bring propeller out of the feather condition, propeller failed to do so. Upon this aircraft landing with the number two engine only operating, the right main gear tire failed upon touch down onto runway and blew out. This inspector made physical visit to sabena airline training center and spoke to the director of maintenance, privacy data omitted and A&P mechanic, privacy data omitted. privacy data omitted Informed this inspector that upon initial inspection of the #1 engine oil reservoir for the propeller, oil level in site glass appeared to be within specification per the maintenance manual. During run-up, privacy data omitted discovered that the propeller pressure was low per specification required in maintenance manual ie: 14 bars rather than at the required 20 plus or minus 1 bars. Number one engine oil reservoir for the propeller serviced and adjustments made to propeller control unit. Final pressures = 20 bars as required. Aircraft returned to service.
