From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft impacted snow bank on side of runway 29. Pilot was attempting to take off on runway 29, the aircraft began to slip left during the roll. The pilot was unable to correct with rudder input. Runway was plowed, but ice and snow packed. Aircraft struck snow bank on left side of runway at approximately 15 to 20 knots. The aircraft received minor damage and the pilot was not injured. Inspection of the aircraft revealed a destroyed prop. The nose landing gear separated from the aircraft at what appears to be a designed breakaway point. There was a crack on the lower cowling. Examination of the firewall and engine supports revealed no visible damage.
