From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot stated that he began with a normal approach to runway 16R but somehow forgot to extend the gear. The pilot stated that he first realized that the gear wasn't down and locked in the flare about the time a normal touchdown would be taking place. The pilot stated that at this point he figured he was committed to landing and that a go-around was no longer a possible option. The pilot stated that he decided to immediately select gear down and hope to hold the plane up long enough for the landing gear to come down. The pilot stated that it was, however, too late for the gear to exend; and the plane touched down on the belly within a couple seconds. The reporting inspector asked and was informed that the pilot was wearing a noise-cancelling headset and does not recall hearing the gear horn until after he was on the ground.

As the FAA filed it
