(-23) On the morning of 14 January 2008 I, in the company of two other inspectors privacy data omitted interviewed the pilot privacy data omitted and privacy data omitted at Hidden River airpark. I asked the pilot privacy data omitted to recreate the subject flight. The pilot privacy data omitted stated that the aircraft was topped off at manatee airport (48X). They departed 48X at 13:30 and flew to lal. According to the pilot privacy data omitted the flight took 00+37. They stopped then departed and completed two (2) full stop landings and subsequent take-offs. The pilot privacy data omitted did not specify the time in the pattern at lal but I am assuming a minimum of 00+10 minutes. The aircraft then departed lal enroute to indiantown airport (X58). The pilot privacy data omitted stated this flight took 73 minutes or 01+13. The pilot privacy data omitted and privacy data omitted visited friends and departed X58 at 18:20 hrs and flew to Hidden River airpark. The pilot privacy data omitted stated this flight took 84 minutes or 01+24. Unable to turn the runway light at Hidden River (orbit time unknown) they were discussing where to divert when the engine lost power and they were forced to land off airport (approx. 2 miles south) in myaaka state park, Sarasota FL. If you examine the total flight time from top-off to engine failure you get 3.4 hours. The CE-150G fuel burn, as related in the pilot's statement was calculated to be 4.2 gallons for a total calculated fuel burn of 14.3 gallons. Total usable fuel is 22.5 gallons. The POH for the (Cessna 150L) with the Continental 0-200/100HP at 2500 ft 68%bhp 2500RPM shows a fuel burn of 5.1 gph. 5.1GPH for 3.4 hrs is 17.34 gallons. These fuel burn figures do not take into consideration higher power settings for the climb to 3000', the increased power settings for take-off or the fuel burn for the 3 start and run-ups. These factors to include my on-scene inspection which revealed no evidence of fuel or fuel odor in or around the inverted airframe. The fuel supply line from the gascolator to the carb was torn free and there was no fuel odor in the gascolator or the supply line to the carb. The aircraft will be transported to sharps salvage, privacy data omitted. Awaiting the Cessna rep, privacy data omitted.
