From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Part 91 flight originated from fcm with captain, fo, and 8 passengers on board. Normal operation and touch down runway 15 @ foz. Weather clear sunny, -20 deg f, no wind, runway surface icy with dusting of snow. Props taken out of reverse at approx 40 KTS, torque surge reported by pilots with second surge causing aircraft to turn hard right (45 degrees). Aircraft impacted snow bank. No injuries reported. Fire and police on scene. Damage to aircraft includes both props and ventral fin. Inspection of a/c by maintenance revealed r engine compressor blade damage beyond limits. L engine starter/generator shaft bent, high pressure fuel pump broken from case assembly. Both engine burner power sections damaged from torque, probable from prop impact. Function test of ground idle solenoids were normal. Both engines being removed for evaluation. Prop damage similar on both, blade angle pushed past fine pitch into reverse but not locked, unable to determine blade angle prior to impact. Prop governors also damaged and sent for repair.
