From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On Sunday, January 27, 2007, an experimental aircraft being operated by a sport pilot was involved in an off airport landing accident. The avid mark iv hh single-engine highwing aircraft, N610K, serial number K1936G was attempting to land westbound on a grass strip 700 foot long and 40 foot wide on the property located at privacy data omitted. The pilot-in-command stated that he let his airspeed get slow and misjudged his height above touchdown during the landing flare. This caused a hard, inadvertent ground strike that allowed the aircraft to bounce back into the air. The aircraft floated to the north side of the landing area striking two small pine trees that were approximately 15 feet tall. The contact caused substantial damage to both the left and right wing, along with the propeller and fuselage of the aircraft. The aircraft was moved by the owner/pilot prior to notifying the FAA or NTSB and placed in a storage barn located on the same property. There were no reported injuries to the pilot. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident. privacy data omitted
