From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Inspected runway where aircraft landed at 18AZ on 2/13/2008. The airport manager escorted FAA personnel and showed the main tire and tail tie-down skid marks. The main tire skid marks were approximately 3 feet apart and 1500 feet long. The skid marks then went to the left and off the runway coming to a stop in the sand approximately 200 feet off the runway. The aircraft was recovered by air transport, inc and transported to the owner's hangar. The owner was asked to turn the master on and try to cycle the gear; nothing happened. The owner saw that the circuit breaker popped. The owner reset the circuit breaker and the gear went down and locked normal. The press-to-test for the green down-lock indicator light was turned to the off position. The press-to-test for the down-lock light and horn was inoperative, and acknowledged by the pilot. The left stabilizer and elevator were damaged from impact. Other minor damage included the tail tie-down hook, tire skids and belly scrapes. The sole occupant was not injured.
