From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot stated: he planned a VFR flight from evy to miv to wwd & then back to evy. He received a briefing approximately one half hour before departure. Upon his arrival at miv he set up for a landing on runway 28. He called miv radio and received the airport advisory. He was told to advise entering the pattern & did so entering the downwind for 28. He went through the checklist, had the boost pump on, landing light on, mixture and prop full in. He got distracted by the increased wind gusts and a buzzard. On final all seemed to be in order, he initiated the flare, ground speed dropped and the plane settled. He then heard the prop strikes and decided it was best to land rather than go around. The plane slid to a stop. He shut down all fuel and electric & exited the aircraft. Damage was minimal, prop was destroyed, engine experienced sudden stoppage. Fuselage lower skin was scratched, nose landing gear doors were damaged, antenna was broken and step was damaged.
