From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Both flight crews were accepted into the aviation safey action program (a.s.a.p.) where their cases will be investigated. At 10:12 am on March 1, 2008, southwest airlines flight 411 (N741SA B-737-700 with winglets) was taxiing southbound to gate 2 at Dallas Love Field when their left winglet struck the left horizontal stabilizer of southwest airlines flight 15 (N652SW B-737-300). The captain of 411 was advised by his first officer that the clearance looked too close, but the captain believed he had enough clearance from flt 15. Swa was under the misconception that ATC was controlling their push backs, as well as the fact that swa was unable to pushback from the west gates without infringing on the movement area. Flight 15 had just completed a pushback from gate 11 towards active taxiway "d". The tug had departed, and flight 15 was stationary, brakes locked, and awaiting clearance to taxi for takeoff. There were no injuries. After a short delay of less than 30 minutes, both aircraft proceeded to their respective gates.

As the FAA filed it
