From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The aircraft was attempting to depart Brandywine Airport, PA, (oqn) on runway 27 for warrington, VA (hwy) on 03/06/2008 at approximately 1645 EST. The pilot reported no response by the aircdaft when he attempted to lift off (65-75 knots). He aborted the take off and attempted to stop. There is a solid black line of rubber transfer from the right main wheel on the runway beginning on the number 9 on the runway threshold and continuing off the end of the runway (approximately 400 feet). There is a sharp drop off at the end of this runway and the aircraft touched down on all 3 gear approximately 80 feet from the end of the runway and came to rest about 25 feet further on in a drainage ditch. The left gear was sheared aft breaching the left fuel tank. The left wing was badly damaged and the nose gear was pushed back and up into the well. There were no reported injuries. Photographs taken within an hour of the accident show the elevator trim tab in the nose down position. When FAA representatives arrived on scene the cockpit elevator trim indicator showed full nose down elevator trim and the manual trim control wheel found against full nose down stop.
