From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot stated that during doing touch and gos at the Dalton Municipal Airport, he felt a violent shimmy in the nose landing gear just prior to rotation for the third touch and go. He then reduced power and lifted the nose to reduce the weight on the nose. He then started a left turn off the runway onto a taxiway and at that time the nose gear collapsed. The pilot was able to shut the engine down without damage to the propeller. Propeller did not contact the ground. There were no injuries. There was no further damage to the aircraft other than to the broken nose landing gear weldment structure.
