From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) After an uneventful landing at the Wahpeton, ND airport, the pilot reported he was taxiing on the runway at low speed when the nose gear collapsed or retracted. The damage to the aircraft consisted of damage to the nose gear doors, minor damage to the bottom of the nose cone and sudden stoppage on both engines resulting in damage to the propellers. There were 2 additional passengers on board and there were no injuries. The commercially certificated pilot reported the same thing had occurred to this aircraft in October of 2007. The repairs consisted of recharging the hydraulic system and reinflation of the nose gear strut. An inspection of the nose gear system indicated previous, unrepaired damage, possibly related to a prior gear collapse. Airworthiness inspectors will complete a malfunction or defect report.
