From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 4/15/2008 at approximately 1600 EDT, subject aircraft being operated by subject airman departed rwy 19 at kfrg. The pilot stated that between 100-150 feet AGL, the engine began to run rough and the throttle became unresponsive. He elected to land the aircraft straight ahead on the remainder of rwy 19. The aircraft landed without incident and was able to turn off onto a taxiway. By this time the engine had completely shut down. The engine could not be restarted and the aircraft was towed to the ramp. Inspection revealed substantial quantities of water in the aircraft fuel bowl and carbureator float bowl. A birds nest was removed from the engine compartment. The water may have entered the ranks through inadequatley sealed fuel caps. The pilot stated that he performed a complete pre-flight inspection, removed a birds nest from the top of the engine and drained all fuels sumps. The taxi time to the active runway was approximatley 35-40 minutes. The pilot stated that during this time, the engine ran well. He further stated the run-up was normal and the engine developed full power for takeoff. Follwing removal of the water, the engine run-up was normal and the aircraft was flown without incident.
