From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) April 19, 2008 approximately 18:30 CDT, N213TW, an amateur-built aircraft, a challenger ii s/n CH2-1001-2142 piloted by privacy data omitted the aircraft owner, impacted utility lines running to a home breaking both wires, impacting the earth approximately 80 yards from the wire strike. The pilot privacy data omitted was seriously injured and was transported by med-a-vac to memphis, tenn. The aircraft had departed the Corning airport (4M9), visual meteorological conditions prevailed and no flight plan had been filed. Eyewitness statements are that the pilot privacy data omitted was known to the home owner and that he was making a low circular pass around the home whle waving to the children, resulting in the impact with the wire and eventually the earth. The aircraft received substantial damage but no aircraft fire ensued. Further investigation indicates that the pilot was not certificated nor was the aircraft legally registered.
