From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On April 28, 2008, a turbine legend, N747CT, flown by the pilot privacy data omitted, crashed onto the center lanes of highway I-44 at 1430 CDT. The investigation shows that N747CT departed from Miami, OK, airport, and flew to the south toward the family tent making business. According to witness statements, the aircraft was at a low altitude as it flew by the family business on a north heading. The aircraft proceeded to the west, then to the south again. On the southerly heading, the aircraft performed a loop with a possible "spiral" in the climb.
