From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) This was the pilot's first flight of the airplane after being in storage since April 6, 2007. On may 1, 2007, the engine carburetor was replaced with an appropriate model. In October 16, 2007, the annual condition inspection was accomplished. On may 9, 2008, during takeoff, the airplane lost power and stalled. The crash site was approximately 200 yards due east of Crest Airpark (S36) at 29015 thomas road se, Kent, WA,98042. Positive identification of the aircraft registration number was not possible at the time because the main part of the fuselage was destroyed in the post crash fire, however through our investigation it is confirmed that the pilot was the owner of the airplane. From witness reports it appears the airplane was experiencing some engine problems during takeoff. Pilot records were destroyed in the post crash fire however the last medical shows 8400 hours and from the aircraft logbooks it is estimated that privacy data omitted had 1240 hours in this airplane.

As the FAA filed it

PILOT RECORDS WERE DESTROYED IN THE POST CRASH FIRE HOWEVER THE LAST MEDICAL SHOWS 8400 HOURS AND FROM THE AIRCRAFT LOGBOOKS IT IS ESTIMATED THAT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ HAD 1240 HOURS IN THIS AIRPLANE.
