What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) While on approach to Lunken the pilot put the landing gear handle down and heard a load banging noise along with no landing gear green down and locked indicators. He then went to his emergency checklist and followed the manual gear extension procedures, which included pulling the landing gear circuit breaker. When he attempted to use the manual gear extension handle, he discovered that the right seat lap belt had rapped and knotted itself around the handle. He attempted to free the seat belt from the handle but was unsuccessful. The pilot advised Lunken tower of the unsafe gear indication and performed a flyby to visually check gear condition. Lunken tower advised that all three gears appeared to be down and the aircraft was cleared to land on runway 25. After landing, the aircraft rolled down the runway for about 200 feet before the right main gear collapsed, followed by the nose gear. The left gear collapsed later when the aircraft was moved. There was no emergency landing gear handle cover installed at the time of the incident. A maintenance inspection and operational check of the landing gear system was performed, with no defects noted that would have contributed to this incident.
