From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On may 15th, 2008 privacy data omitted (student pilot) was flying his aircraft, 2007 infinity powered parachute, westbound over hwy 7 in the area of country road 10. The st. Bonifacius generating substation is located in the south west corner of hwy 7 (east and west) and co rd 10 (north and south), 5430 co rd 10. The substation was operating two large diesel turbine generators each have a vertical exhaust (approx 10 feet square by 30 feet tall). The conditions were VFR with the winds reported at 22003 kt and 29010 kt. When privacy data omitted was flying past the north side of the substation, and north of hwy 7, the air current generated by the turbine generator exhaust caused him to loose control of the aircraft. The aircraft landed in the substation, hitting powerlines then the ground. There were no injuries and the aircraft received minor damage.

WHEN ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS FLYING PAST THE NORTH SIDE OF THE SUBSTATION, AND NORTH OF HWY 7, THE AIR CURRENT GENERATED BY THE TURBINE GENERATOR EXHAUST CAUSED HIM TO LOOSE CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED IN THE SUBSTATION, HITTING POWERLINES THEN THE GROUND. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE.
