From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

At the time the aircraft began takeoff roll (1005 CDT) (rwy 30), the wing direction and speed (0939 CDT) indicated a significant quartering tail wind (100 degrees at 23 gusting to 36). The pilot did not report any abnormal aircraft mechanical performance. After initial impact, the aircraft slide approximately 180 yards and came to rest upright near a parking lot. The propeller and landing gear departed the aircraft within the first 80 yards after initial impact. The left wing and tail departed the aircraft after impacting a utility pole.
