From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft was on approach to mdw, runway 22L, in gusty wind conditions. At 50 ft AGL pilot applied power to arrest excessive sink. The aircraft made a normal touchdown at 83 KTS but then the aircraft accelerated to 95 KTS. The pilot attempted to slow down the aircraft with the use of the brakes. He soon realized the engines were at max power in spite of the fact that they were reduced to idle. The pilot then elected to do a "go around". On downwind the pilot noticed "l and r eng control fail". In addition, the airspeed was rapidly approaching 190 KTS. He instructed the fo to look up the qrh (quick reference handbook)procedure. The recommended procedure was to shut down the affected engine. He then reduced the right engine to idle and shut down the engine. The aircraft all of sudden decelerated to 90 knots and the stall warning horn began going off. The pilot looked at the engine indications and the lt engine was now at idle. He called mdw tower and declared an emergency. Mdw tower personnel cleared him to land on any runway. The pilot made an emergency landing at mdw. On landing the pilot noticed that both tires were flat from the balked landing.
