From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On June 9, 2008, pilot privacy data omitted, made an intentional landing in a grass pasture. This landing accomplished at 13:30 PDT without incident. At 15:30 PDT, the pilot with one passenger, attempted a takeoff from this grass pasture. Conditions were described as 5100 feet MSL, estimated 75 degrees f, with a 10-12 knot westerly wind. Approximately 1200 feet of useable takeoff run available with 3 to 6 inches of grass. As the aircraft became airborne, the tail wheel caught the top wire of a fence causing the aircaft to lose airspeed. The pilot closed the throttle and the aircraft contacted soft ground and became inverted. It was noted, at that time by the pilot, that the prevailing winds had decreased to nearly zero.
